Learn The Old Testament

It is important to learn the Old Testament for several reasons.  Studying the Old Testament will give you a historical, cultural, and theological foundation for both Judaism and Christianity. It’s a journey through thousands of years of history as well as law, prophecy, and wisdom literature, revealing God’s character and plan for humanity. Learning the Old Testament is crucial for grasping the context of the New Testament and appreciating the continuity of God’s message throughout scripture.  When you read the New Testament you will find over and over where the Old Testament is referred to and quoted.  Paul, Peter, Stephen, John and others all quoted the Old Testament.  Jesus said, “Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.”  The New Testament was obviously not written yet so Jesus was talking about searching the Old Testament.  Every Christian should want to learn the Old Testament.  All of these lessons are written to be concise and each can be read in a few minutes.  Teaching should be clear and straight forward and come from the Bible and not  outside sources.  I pray that these simple lessons will be a blessing to you.
