General Information about Philippians
The book was written by Paul from the Mamertine prison in Rome.
The book was written approximately in 63 A.D. Approx. 10 years after Paul was in Philippi.
The Philippian Christians had sent gifts to Paul when he was in prison. These gifts were delivered by Epaphroditus. Phi 4:18 But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things [which were sent] from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God. Epaphroditus then became very ill, even to the verge of death. Phi 2:27 For indeed he was sick nigh unto death: but God had mercy on him; and not on him only, but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow. After he recovered Paul sent Epaphroditus back with this letter.
Jesus Christ is mentioned 40 times in this book and sin in the church is not mentioned at all.
