Lessons From Titus
Titus was left in Crete by Paul to complete the work of establishing and organizing churches. This book was written to instruct Titus concerning qualifications for elders in the church, to fortify Titus in his work, and to warn him against false teachers. In this book we see that there can be fakers in the church and that they are to be rebuked and stopped. This letter was written to a preacher but it is not only for preachers. Titus contains the qualifications for a leader of a local church. Christians need to also know these qualifications so they can discern if their pastor is qualified. If more Christians knew and accepted what is in Titus, then I have no doubt that there would be less bad unqualified preachers behind pulpits.
